Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina begins 2026/27 season preparations

Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina has officially begun preparations for the 2026/27 Serie A2 season. The team and staff are scheduled to hold an official closed-door gathering at PalaGrotta on Monday, August 24.

Athletes are currently undergoing medical examinations and physical testing at various facilities, including the Epione medical center and Rialab physiotherapy center. While most of the roster is available, player Filippo Mancini is currently participating in the Mediterranean Games in Taranto. The team will alternate technical and physical training sessions between PalaGrotta and PalaSavelli in Porto San Giorgio, including a beach volleyball exhibition in Lido di Fermo on August 29. The first open practice for fans is set for August 26.

The club has also announced the jersey numbers for the upcoming season. Matteo Zamagni will retain number 1, while Filippo Mancini will wear number 11. Other players including Nicola Mazzon (14), Tommaso Moretti (10), and Tommaso Guzzo (4) have also confirmed their numbers, many of which carry personal or familial significance.
