Yucatán and Michoacán Boost Meeting Tourism at National MPI Congress

Yucatán took part in the XVI Congreso Nacional MPI México Chapter 2026 held in León, Guanajuato from 15‑17 July. Represented by the State Public Trust for the Development of Meeting Tourism (Fideture) and the Visit Yucatán brand, the delegation highlighted the region’s competitive advantages, sustainability initiatives and long‑term public‑private policies aimed at attracting conferences, conventions and exhibitions that generate hotel occupancy and economic spill‑over.

Michoacán also participated in the same congress, with Tourism Secretary Roberto Monroy García stressing the role of large meetings in creating jobs and fostering local development. The state’s officials reiterated their commitment to position Michoacán as a national and international venue for high‑value events, stressing collaboration among destinations, organizers and service providers to build a more competitive and sustainable offering.
