Yucatán and Netherlands discuss maritime and water management cooperation

The government of Yucatán and the Netherlands are exploring bilateral cooperation in maritime, energy, and water management sectors. During the second Energy & Maritime Committee meeting in Mexico City, Yucatán officials presented opportunities to Dutch companies regarding the expansion of the Port of Progreso and regional energy projects.

Additionally, a Dutch commercial mission known as ‘Horizonte Azul’ is seeking to address Mexico’s water stress challenges. Ten Dutch companies are looking to implement technologies for rainwater harvesting, water treatment, and flood prevention, leveraging the Netherlands' extensive expertise in water management and infrastructure.
