In a separate raid on July 28, 2026, state investigators together with federal forces in Hunucmá captured two suspects and seized both synthetic and natural narcotics. The operations show a heightened focus by Mexican agencies and U.S. partners such as the DEA and FBI on curbing criminal activity in Yucatán.
