Yucatán CBTAS Remain Open After Governor Confirms No Closures

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena announced via a Facebook Live broadcast that the Centro de Bachillerato Tecnológico Agropecuario (CBTAS) extensions in Acanceh, Tixkokob and Tzucacab will stay operational. He confirmed the decision after discussion with the Secretary of Public Education, Mario Delgado, ending weeks of uncertainty among parents, students and teachers about a possible suspension of activities following the 2025‑2026 school cycle.

The announcement assures that the agricultural‑technical schools will continue providing education for the region, addressing concerns that families had received mixed messages about enrollment and potential transfer to other state schools. The continuation maintains the technical training pathway for youth in Yucatán.

The schools are expected to keep serving the local communities, offering agricultural and technical programs that support the regional economy.
