Yucatán Civil Registry Issues Birth Certificates to 17 Residents

The Yucatán State Civil Registry handed out 17 delayed birth certificates, identity registrations and CURP numbers to adults aged 19 to 77 who had never been formally documented. The ceremony took place at the Villa Palmira office and included beneficiaries from Dzidzantún, Umán, Chikindzonot, Tizimín, Tzucacab, Ticul, Buctzotz, Panabá, Kanasín, Peto, Chemax and Mérida.

Registry Director Jorge Carlos Ramírez Granados said the extemporaneous registration corrects a long‑standing omission that denied these citizens access to services and legal rights. The free procedure is coordinated with the State Legal Counsel and can be pursued at any of the 144 Civil Registry offices throughout Yucatán, ensuring that no person remains legally invisible.
