The Yucatán state government is advancing two major social and infrastructure initiatives. Under the 'Vivienda para el Bienestar' program, the National Housing Commission (Conavi) is working toward a goal of over 72,000 homes. Currently, the program reports significant progress, with approximately 9,000 units under construction across 29 municipalities. Recent deliveries in Ciudad Caucel included 50 single-family homes designed for vulnerable populations, including seniors and people with disabilities.

Simultaneously, the Yucatán Congress has approved a 1,562 million peso loan to fund the 'Plan Bienestar Metropolitano' (PBM). This strategy, coordinated with the federal government, aims to address long-standing deficits in water supply, road infrastructure, and security in Mérida and its metropolitan area. The total projected investment for the PBM over the next three years is 4,490.9 million pesos, combining new financing, state funds, and federal resources.

The financial measures have faced political opposition. Members of the PRI have criticized the debt, arguing that the restructuring of over 10,800 million pesos in total obligations creates a long-term social mortgage for future generations and lacks sufficient technical rigor.
