Yucatán Congress approves measures to combat power outages

The Yucatán State Congress has unanimously approved a Point of Agreement containing 15 exhortations aimed at addressing electrical outages, ensuring fair tariffs, and improving energy infrastructure. The measures include requests to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to modernize the electrical grid and provide transparent information regarding infrastructure status.

Additionally, the project includes a proposal to the State Government to dissolve the Operadora Energética y Marítima de Yucatán (OEMY), a parastatal entity created during the previous administration. The legislative body also called on the Chamber of Deputies to prevent proposed federal budget cuts to the CFE.
