Yucatán father and daughter reunite after deportation separation

Noé Villanueva, a resident of Buctzotz, has been reunited with his minor daughter in Yucatán after a four-month separation. The separation occurred after Villanueva was deported to Mexico while his daughter remained in Oklahoma City, United States.

The reunification was facilitated through the coordinated efforts of the Institute for the Development of Mayan Culture of the State of Yucatán (Indemaya), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) in Mérida, and the Mexican Consulate in Oklahoma City. During the four-month process, legal and social work professionals from Indemaya provided personalized guidance and followed up on the necessary administrative procedures.

Indemaya stated that this case is part of the state government's ongoing support for Yucatecans living outside the state, specifically regarding migration, identity, and family reunification matters.
