Yucatán government awards multiple contracts to company managed by 18-year-old

Investigations have revealed that Ingeniería y Servicios del Caribe, S. A. de C. V., a company whose sole administrator and legal representative is 18 years old, has received multiple government contracts in Yucatán.

Before leaving her post as Secretary of Health, Judith Elena Ortega Canto authorized a contract worth up to approximately 9 million pesos for the maintenance of emergency plants, transformers, and electrical panels in key hospitals. The current head of the department, Miguel Alberto Alcocer Gamboa, has ratified this arrangement despite reports of medical shortages, lack of specialists, and surgical delays in municipalities such as Valladolid and Tizimín.

Additionally, the Institute for the Construction and Conservation of Public Works of Yucatán (Inccopy) has awarded contracts to the same company during the early months of Joaquín Díaz Mena’s administration. These contracts involve the rehabilitation of a park in Mérida and a waste disposal site in Celestún.
