Yucatán Governor Allocates Funds for Homeless Aid and Rural Development

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena announced that the state will provide 11,000 pesos per month – about four pesos per person – to support more than 2,700 people living on the streets, a budget that represents roughly one‑third of the amount needed to cover the estimated cost of full assistance.

In the same period, the governor launched a series of agricultural initiatives, including a new honey‑collection center, irrigation systems for citrus growers, and the distribution of tools and inputs to over 400 producers. The program involves an investment of 108 million pesos for hydro‑agricultural infrastructure and more than 5 million pesos for tools and supplies, aiming to boost productivity and food security across Yucatán’s rural communities.
