Yucatán Governor and Quintana Roo Deputy Launch Local Development and Training Initiatives

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena of Yucatán signed a partnership with Fundación Wadhwani and the training firm Formeta to create the “Alianza Formación de Talento Humano e Impulso a la Productividad.” The agreement will fund 100,000 scholarships worth about $250 each, aimed at improving digital, technical and professional skills of workers and job‑seekers throughout the state. Officials said the program is intended to close the gap between employer needs and existing workforce qualifications and to support families in interior municipalities.

In Quintana Roo, Deputy Renán Sánchez Tajonar, president of the JUCOPO of the state congress, visited the Altamar neighborhood in Cozumel to meet residents directly. He emphasized listening to citizens as a way to shape policies on public services, security and community wellbeing, and pledged to continue similar outreach visits across the island.

Both initiatives reflect a broader push by regional Mexican officials to boost employment prospects and address local concerns through targeted training and direct community engagement.
