Yucatán Governors Roll Out Rural Road Projects to Aid Farmers

The state of Yucatán is expanding its rural road network to improve agricultural productivity. Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena announced that the "Caminos Renacimiento" program will deliver more than 60 million pesos to construct 750 km of farm-to-market roads across the state by 2026, with 29 km already built in the Tekax municipality to connect citrus, livestock and honey producers to markets.

In the neighboring municipality of Francisco Z. Mena, Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier dispatched a motor grader to level and maintain 37 km of rural roads, a project that will benefit about 17,000 residents. The work, coordinated with local ejido committees, is intended to ensure year‑round mobility, lower transport costs and support access to health, education and commerce services for isolated communities.
