Yucatán improves financial standing through debt restructuring

The Government of Yucatán has restructured a bank credit with Banamex to improve its financial conditions. The operation, finalized on September 29, is expected to save approximately 29 million pesos over the life of the credit.

Key changes include reducing the interest rate by 14 basis points and lowering the federal participation committed as a guarantee from 13.5% to 8.8%. This reduction is intended to free up resources for other state public investment projects. This move follows recent positive financial evaluations, including an upgrade by HR Ratings and an improved position in the State Competitiveness Index.

The Secretariat of Administration and Finance is currently preparing to refinance other existing credits to further reduce debt service costs and minimize committed guarantees.
