Yucatán invests 80 million pesos to upgrade 153 IMSS‑Bienestar health centers

The state of Yucatán is allocating 80 million pesos through the "La Clínica es Nuestra" program to renovate and equip 153 IMSS‑Bienestar health centers, improving infrastructure and medical supplies. The IMSS‑Bienestar model now integrates 188 health units, covering more than 1.1 million residents and has saved families an estimated 13 million pesos in out‑of‑pocket fees.

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena highlighted the new Agustín O’Horán High‑Specialty Hospital, built with over 5 billion pesos of federal investment, which has already delivered 22,960 consultations, performed 1,155 surgeries—including the first 14 robotic procedures in Yucatán—and conducted thousands of laboratory and imaging studies. The reforms have increased general‑medicine consultations to 1.47 million, specialty visits by 22 %, and surgery volume by 16 %.

These measures aim to create a free, accessible, and higher‑quality health system for Yucatán’s population.
