Yucatán launches 2026 Robotics Competition call

The Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (Secihti) has launched the call for the 2026 Robotics Competition in Yucatán. The registration period for the event is open until September 13.

The competition is designed for students from basic, upper-secondary, and higher education levels at both public and private institutions. It also includes an open category, ‘Fútbol CR’, for residents and natives of the state regardless of their academic status. Student categories include Robot Corredor, Robot Ratón, Seguidor de Línea, Robot de Tareas, and Mini Sumo.

Participants are expected to develop their own prototypes, focusing on innovation, creativity, and technical understanding. Evaluations are scheduled for late September, with track tests in mid-October and final competitions held on October 22 and 23. The initiative aims to promote STEM skills and technological talent within the region.
