Yucatán Leads Mexico in Budget Management, Scoring 97.9 Points

Mexico's Secretariat of Treasury and Credit (SHCP) announced that the state of Yucatán achieved the top rank nationwide in the 2026 Budget based on Results and Performance Evaluation System (PbR-SED), earning a score of 97.9 out of 100 and a "Muy alto" advancement level. The assessment, which covers planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring, evaluation and accountability of public spending, placed Yucatán ahead of Guanajuato (96.2) and Baja California (92.2) among the 32 federal entities.

The result reflects the full work of Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena's administration. Juan Sánchez Álvarez, head of Yucatán's Finance Secretariat, said the recognition guarantees that each peso is planned, tracked and its outcomes measured for the benefit of families. The federal acknowledgment also supports the state's long‑term initiatives, such as the Plan Bienestar Metropolitano, aimed at improving water supply, mobility and security in Mérida and its metropolitan area.
