Yucatán promotes strategic investment and infrastructure projects

The government of Yucatán is actively promoting strategic investment projects to drive economic growth and job creation through improved infrastructure and international partnerships.

At the First Mexico–El Salvador Binational Business Congress, officials presented the potential of the Chichén Itzá International Airport to become an aeronautical hub. The strategy aims to attract specialized services, including maintenance, logistics, and technology, leveraging the airport's location to build a new productive ecosystem.

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena also met with leaders from the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry (Canacintra) to highlight the state's competitive advantages, such as geographic location, security, and legal certainty. These efforts are part of the 'Maya Renaissance' vision to expand Yucatán's presence in national and international markets.

Additionally, the state is strengthening ties with international shipping companies. Discussions with the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association focused on the modernization of the Port of Progreso. The state aims to attract larger cruise ships by developing marine bunkering services, constructing a shipyard for vessel maintenance, and providing high-quality local supplies.
