Yucatán rolls out free online tourism courses and regenerative tourism workshop

The municipality of Florida in Yucatán hosted an in‑person workshop on regenerative tourism, organized by Mexico's Ministry of Tourism and the UN World Tourism Organization. Participants received tools to design tourism projects that restore ecosystems, strengthen local identity and generate community benefits.

Separately, the Yucatán state government launched an e‑learning platform offering more than 100 free online courses for tourism service providers. The initiative, part of the Picct 2026 program of the Secretaría de Fomento Turístico, targets over 3,700 providers across 25 municipalities, delivering 114 courses and backed by a 5.8 million‑peso investment to raise service quality and competitiveness.
