Yucatán to host COMPEDIA 2026 pediatric allergy congress, generating 46 M pesos economic boost

The 33rd National and International Congress of Pediatric Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (COMPEDIA 2026) will be held in Mérida, Yucatán, from 8 to 11 July 2026 at the International Congress Center (CIC). The four‑day medical gathering is expected to attract more than 1,500 researchers, clinicians and speakers from Mexico and abroad.

Organizers estimate that the event will inject over 46 million pesos (about 2.5 million USD) into Yucatán’s local economy, benefitting hotels, restaurants, transport and other tourism services. Beatriz Niño Rosales, director of the public trust for meetings tourism in Yucatán, highlighted the state’s infrastructure, safety and cultural appeal as key factors, while Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena’s administration sees the congress as a driver of economic development and scientific exchange.

The conference will feature workshops, plenary sessions and presentations aimed at advancing knowledge on pediatric allergies and asthma, reinforcing Yucatán’s reputation as a leading destination for specialized meetings tourism.
