Yuhan Corporation celebrates 100 years and Lazertinib success

Yuhan Corporation held a ‘Beyond 100 Years’ event in Seoul to commemorate its centennial and celebrate the development success of Lazertinib, an innovative lung cancer drug. The event, held during the World Conference on Lung Cancer, highlighted the drug's journey from initial discovery to its global licensing agreement with Johnson & Johnson (J&J).

Key presentations detailed the drug's technical and clinical milestones. Dr. Jong-sung Ko of Genosco discussed the optimization process of Lazertinib (GNS-1480), emphasizing data-driven collaboration. Professor Byung-chul Cho of Severance Hospital reviewed the clinical development journey spanning from 2013 to 2024, noting the drug's progression from licensing to becoming a potential new standard of care.

J&J representatives presented results from the Phase 3 MARIPOSA study, which showed that the combination therapy of Lazertinib and amivantamab reduced the risk of death by 25% compared to osimertinib. Yuhan Corporation CEO Cho Wook-je described the drug as a symbol of the company's innovation over the past century and its vision for the next 100 years.
