Yuhan Corporation receives Presidential Citation for circular economy leadership

Yuhan Corporation has received a Presidential Citation at the 18th Resource Circulation Day for its contributions to the circular economy. The award, presented by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and organized by the Korea Environment Corporation, recognizes the company’s efforts in reducing industrial waste and promoting recycling.

The company was specifically commended for enhancing resource circulation efficiency at its Ochang plant and implementing eco-friendly product designs. Key achievements include improving the resource circulation rate by 30.2% compared to 2021 and reducing the final disposal rate by 17.2%. Through the circular resource recognition system, the company is projected to reduce waste by 180.7 tons in 2025.

Notable innovations include the introduction of ‘e-labels’ (digital instructions) for injectable products to replace paper manuals, printing product information directly on packaging, and simplifying packaging structures from double to single layers. These measures aim to minimize material use throughout the product lifecycle, from planning and production to packaging.
