Yuhan Corp’s Willow House wins Presidential Award for Space Culture

Yuhan Corp has been awarded the Presidential Prize at the 2026 Korea Space Culture Awards for its complex cultural space, Willow House. The award, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Institute of Architects, recognizes the project for preserving historical architectural assets while opening them to the public.

Located in Daebang-dong, Seoul, Willow House was created from the company’s former headquarters originally completed in 1962. The renovation preserved the building’s historic red brick exterior and removed external fences to allow citizens access to exhibitions, culture, and relaxation. The project embodies the corporate philosophy of founder Dr. Il-han New, who believed that corporate profits should be returned to the society that fostered the company’s growth.

The facility includes the ‘Yuhan Archive,’ which showcases the founder’s life and the company’s history, as well as ‘Willow Ground’ and the ‘Willow Park’ garden for community interaction.
