Yuina Kuroshima performs successful first pitch at Jingu Stadium

Actor Yuina Kuroshima performed her first ceremonial first pitch during a Yakult Swallows vs. Yomiuri Giants game at Meiji Jingu Stadium on August 25. Wearing a blue uniform featuring the number 31, which corresponds to her character in the upcoming film ‘4 Out: Play Ball Again’, Kuroshima successfully delivered a no-bounce pitch to the catcher.

Kuroshima, who expressed a deep interest in baseball, noted that she practiced her throwing at local parks to ensure she could reach the catcher without the ball bouncing. She described the experience as ‘refreshing’ and gave her performance a score of ‘about 97 points.’

The appearance was tied to the promotion of her film ‘4 Out’, a production based on a true story that focuses on disability baseball. In the movie, Kuroshima plays a team manager for the ‘Tokyo Blue Thunders’. She used the opportunity to advocate for greater awareness of disability baseball, noting that the film features actual players from disability baseball teams to highlight the universal joy of the sport.
