Yuji Nagata captures Ironman Heavy Metal Championship

During a DDT Pro-Wrestling event at Korakuen Hall on September 21, Yuji Nagata captured the Ironman Heavy Metal Championship in a surprising turn of events. The title change occurred following a special tag team match celebrating Jun Akiyama’s 34th anniversary from professional wrestling.

In the featured match, the team of Jun Akiyama and Yuji Nagata faced HARASHIMA and Dino. Akiyama and Nagata secured a TKO victory over their opponents, which resulted in Akiyama initially taking the Ironman Heavy Metal Championship from Dino. However, immediately following the match, Nagata betrayed his long-time partner and ally by pinning Akiyama to claim the title for himself.

Nagata later explained his unexpected actions by stating he became disoriented during the match after being pressed against Dino’s buttocks. Despite Akiyama’s attempt to reclaim the belt via a pinfall, Nagata successfully defended it to become the new champion.
