Yukai Engineering releases new black mirumi charm robot

Yukai Engineering has released a new black color variant of its mirumi charm robot, a fashion-tech device designed to be attached to bags. The robot mimics infant-like behaviors, such as glancing around, staring, or turning its head toward sounds, to create natural social interactions.

The mirumi series, which includes pink, ivory, and gray options, gained international attention following a successful crowdfunding campaign that raised approximately 80 million yen. The device was also featured in the GCDS Spring/Summer 2026 collection in Milan.

The new black version is priced at 22,000 yen (including tax) and is scheduled for release on October 1, 2026. It features a rechargeable lithium polymer battery providing up to eight hours of operation on a single two-hour charge.
