Yuki Kawamura named ambassador for NBA docomo

Professional basketball player Yuki Kawamura has been appointed as the new ambassador for ‘NBA docomo’, a video streaming service provided by NTT Docomo. During a press conference in Tokyo, Kawamura expressed his desire to show children and fans in Japan that Japanese players can compete at the highest level of basketball.

Kawamura, who is entering his third season in the NBA and holds an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, stated his primary goal is to secure a standard NBA contract. He outlined a realistic progression from training camp to a two-way contract, and eventually into a regular rotation.

In conjunction with the ambassadorship, ‘NBA docomo’ announced the sale of season passes for the 2026-2027 season starting September 3, 2026. The service will provide coverage of 400 regular-season games with Japanese commentary and analysis, including highlights and original programming. The platform will also introduce a new live chat feature to allow fans to interact in real time while watching games.
