Yuki Kojima wins gold in 200m backstroke at Pan Pacific Championships

At the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Irvine, USA, 17-year-old Yuki Kojima won the gold medal in the men's 200m backstroke. Kojima clocked a time of 1:55.38, setting a new personal best and securing Japan's second gold medal of the competition following Tomoyuki Matsushita's victory in the 400m individual medley.

In addition to Kojima's individual success, the Japanese men's 4x100m freestyle relay team, consisting of Tatsuya Murasa, Shone Mitsunaga, Katsuo Matsumoto, and Shuya Matsumoto, earned a bronze medal. Other notable performances included Satomi Suzuki finishing fourth in the women's 50m breaststroke.
