Yuki Tsunoda in talks to join IndyCar for 2027 season

Former Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda is reportedly in talks to join the IndyCar Series in 2027 following a lack of contract extensions from Red Bull Racing. After participating in 111 Grands Prix, Tsunoda currently serves as a test and reserve driver.

Tsunoda is a candidate for the Honda-powered #66 seat at Meyer Shank Racing (MSR). The position is expected to become available following a driver shuffle involving Marcus Armstrong and Felix Rosenqvist.

The Japanese driver has previously expressed interest in competing in the United States and has gained some experience with IndyCar machinery during a promotional event in Las Vegas. His potential move mirrors the career path of Takuma Sato, who transitioned from Formula 1 to success in American open-wheel racing.
