Yuki Tsunoda linked to IndyCar test with Meyer Shank Racing
Yuki Tsunoda is reportedly slated to participate in an IndyCar evaluation test on October 26 at Barber Motorsports Park. The Japanese driver, currently a reserve driver for Red Bull in Formula 1, is expected to drive for Meyer Shank Racing (MSR).
This potential move comes amid speculation regarding Tsunoda’s future in Formula 1 after losing his seat at Red Bull. While MSR does not have an open seat for the upcoming campaign—which will feature Marcus Armstrong and Mick Schumacher—the test may serve as a preliminary step toward a potential partnership in 2028, when a seat linked to Honda becomes available.
Currently, Dale Coyne Racing is the only other Honda-affiliated team with available seats for 2027. Tsunoda previously participated in an IndyCar testing event in November 2024 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway during a Honda-promoted crossover event.
