Yuki Yamada to star in Prime Original film ‘Super Mob Ninja’

Actor Yuki Yamada will star in the Prime Original film ‘Super Mob Ninja’, scheduled for exclusive worldwide release on Prime Video starting February 19, 2027.

Directed and written by Yugo Sakamoto, known for the ‘Baby Walkure’ series, the film follows Akira Higashino (played by Yamada), an unremarkable young man whose life changes after losing his convenience store job. He becomes involved in a high-paying, suspicious job that leads him to join the ‘Secret Ninja Division’ (Mob Ninja), a government organization tasked with fighting ‘Oni’—beings that blend into human society to attack people.

Yamada described his role as the ‘most insignificant lead ever,’ noting that the intense sword-based action was more physically demanding than his work on the ‘Kingdom’ series. Action director Kensuke Sonomura is also returning to handle the film's choreography.
