Yun Kun-young urges President Lee to address trust issues

Democratic Party lawmaker Yun Kun-young has urged President Lee Jae-myung to take a clear stance on controversial issues to restore public trust. In a social media post, Yun advised the President to avoid vague compromises regarding the cancellation of public prosecutions and discussions surrounding constitutional amendments for presidential term extensions.

Yun emphasized that the administration must not attempt to “win against the people” but should instead fully embrace public sentiment. He warned against the mindset of “not being pushed back,” suggesting that the President should focus on sincerity rather than political maneuvering. Yun specifically cautioned that the administration must avoid becoming a “second Yoon Suk-yeol,” referring to former President Yoon Suk-yeol.

These remarks come amid a decline in President Lee’s approval ratings. A recent Realmeter poll indicated his positive evaluation has dropped to 33.8%, marking a nine-week consecutive decline, while negative evaluations have surpassed 60%.
