Yunlin County highlights industrial transformation and historical preservation
Yunlin County has marked significant milestones in both its administrative evolution and historical documentation. The county government held a book signing for “Leaping to the Clouds: Upgrading Yunlin with Creative Technology,” a publication detailing the region's transition from a traditional agricultural hub to a center for agriculture, industry, and commerce driven by technology.
County Magistrate Chang Li-shan highlighted the “2030 Yunlin Vision,” noting that the county has successfully reduced its debt ratio from 49.87% to less than 14%. This fiscal stability is being redirected toward infrastructure and the development of “9+1 industrial parks” to foster local employment and attract youth.
Simultaneously, the county announced the completion of the “Yunlin County Chronicles,” a massive historical project spanning five years. The collection consists of 36 volumes and over 8 million words, covering the region's history, geography, economy, and culture. This project aims to preserve local memory and serves as a final piece in the collection of Taiwan's county chronicles. To ensure accessibility, a condensed version titled “The Vitality of Fengtou Shuiwei: An Illustrated History of Yunlin's Development” has also been released.
