Yunlin County promotes aquaculture products at Taipei Expo Park

The Yunlin County Government hosted a press conference at the Taipei Expo Park Farmers' Market to promote local aquaculture, specifically focusing on eel and tilapia. The event, titled "Yunlin Good Fish, Summer Good Food," aims to integrate fish education into family life during the summer vacation and Father's Day.

Yunlin is a major hub for aquaculture in Taiwan. The county's eel farming covers approximately 250 hectares with an annual output exceeding 800 tons, accounting for over 60% of the national production. Additionally, tilapia farming in the region spans about 130 hectares with an annual yield of over 2,700 tons.

The initiative, supported by the Taipei City Government and the Fisheries Agency, seeks to connect production areas directly with major consumer markets like Taipei. By offering cooking demonstrations and tastings, organizers hope to increase market visibility for domestic seafood and support local fishermen.
