Yunlin County Wins Multiple International Smart‑City and Design Awards

Yunlin County Government in Taiwan was honored with a series of international recognitions for its smart‑city and sustainability initiatives. The county secured the International Smart City Forum (ICF) "Complete Smart City Community" certification and was named among the 2026 Global Top 7 Smart Cities. It also received awards for its Environmental Protection Bureau’s new office‑building landscape project, winning Taiwan’s National Excellence Construction Gold Award for Best Planning & Design, Poland’s Houzee Platinum Design Award, the United States UN Silver Design Award and Italy’s Rome Silver Design Award. The project, dubbed “Resilient City – Circular Oasis,” integrates green spaces, rain‑water recycling, ecological flood‑storage, and recycled building materials, aiming to create a climate‑resilient, carbon‑neutral public space that links the high‑speed rail station with the surrounding district.

County leaders, including County Mayor Zhang Lishan and Environmental Protection Bureau Director Zhang Qiaowei, highlighted the achievements as evidence of cross‑departmental collaboration and the county’s commitment to turning innovative policies into high‑quality public services that promote smart governance, environmental sustainability, and community well‑being.
