Yunlin hosts 2026 Sustainable Industry Forum to discuss net-zero strategies

The 2026 Sustainable Industry Forum was held at the Jiankang Mountain Resort in Yunlin, Taiwan, bringing together over 100 representatives from industry, government, academia, and research sectors. Organized by the Taiwan Sustainable Industry Development Promotion Association alongside the Yunlin County Industrial Association and the Yunlin County Business Development and Investment Promotion Association, the event focused on navigating global supply chain carbon footprint requirements and net-zero regulations.

The forum highlighted three primary themes: utilizing agricultural and industrial by-products for biochar carbon sequestration and carbon credit opportunities; integrating wind, solar, and municipal power with next-generation energy storage systems; and implementing generative AI to build corporate knowledge systems for improved energy resilience and decision-making efficiency.

Participants discussed practical challenges in ESG implementation, including technical selection, cost-effectiveness, and internal data integration. The forum aimed to facilitate the adoption of low-carbon technologies and green innovation investments to drive sustainable economic growth in the region.
