Yunlin International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition marks 20th anniversary
The 20th Yunlin International Agricultural Machinery and Materials Exhibition opened on October 17 at the Huwei High Speed Rail Special Zone. The event features nearly 400 domestic and international exhibitors across thousands of booths, showcasing smart machinery, labor-saving equipment, and low-carbon agricultural technologies.
Last year, the exhibition attracted over 800,000 visitors, generating 730 million TWD in on-site transactions and contributing to over 5 billion TWD in extended business opportunities. This year's theme focuses on technological agriculture and international integration, featuring participants from Japan, the United States, Germany, Malaysia, Poland, and Vietnam.
To address challenges such as an aging rural population, labor shortages, and extreme weather, the Ministry of Agriculture announced significant financial support. Since 2019, the government has invested approximately 7.7 billion TWD in machinery subsidies. An additional 9.2 billion TWD is planned for the 2026–2029 period, with expanded coverage including fisheries, animal husbandry, and forestry, as well as incentives for electric machinery and circular agriculture.
