Yunlin promotes local towel industry and traditional puppet theater

Yunlin County is launching several initiatives to promote its local industries and traditional arts. On September 5, the ‘Yunlin Towel Carnival’ will be held at the Taipei Expo Park. The event aims to showcase the strength of Yunlin’s towel manufacturing industry, which produces nine out of every ten towels made in Taiwan. The initiative involves cross-sector cooperation between towel manufacturers and local agricultural producers to develop specialized gift sets and branded products.

Simultaneously, the Yunlin County Government has announced the ‘2026 Taiwan Puppet Theater Institute Flagship Tour.’ Starting in September, the tour will feature 12 performances by five different puppet theater troupes across Yunlin, Taipei, Chiayi, Tainan, and Taichung. The program includes six classic plays and six flagship new works, designed to preserve traditional puppetry skills while attracting younger audiences through modern theatrical elements.
