Yunlin Prosecutors partner with utility companies to combat election bribery
The Yunlin District Prosecutors Office has partnered with state-owned enterprises, including Taiwan Power Company and Taiwan Water Corporation, to integrate anti-election bribery campaigns into daily public services.
Chief Prosecutor Zhang Fujun announced that the collaboration aims to expand the reach of anti-bribery messaging by utilizing existing service networks. Taiwan Power and Taiwan Water will use service centers, electronic displays, waiting area televisions, and notice boards to broadcast anti-bribery materials. Digital channels such as official websites, internal newsletters, and LINE groups will also be used to disseminate information.
Notably, Taiwan Water plans to include anti-bribery messages and reporting hotlines on water outage notices sent to households. This initiative seeks to ensure that citizens encounter election integrity information during their routine interactions with essential utility services, moving beyond traditional, one-off awareness events.
