Yunlin residential fire leaves three injured after rescue
A residential fire broke out in a single-story house on Minzhu Road in Lunbei Township, Yunlin County, early on August 25. Emergency services responded to reports of thick smoke and potential occupants trapped inside.
Firefighters rescued three individuals from the building. A 90-year-old woman sustained minor injuries and remained conscious. Two other victims, a 55-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man, were found in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) states. Following emergency medical intervention, the 55-year-old woman regained a heartbeat and was transferred to Changhua Christian Hospital, while the 62-year-old man remains under continuous CPR at Changhua Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.
The fire, which covered an estimated area of 50 square meters, was brought under control by 6:38 a.m. Authorities have notified local township and county social services, and fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
