Yunquera de Henares reorganizes electrical circuits after outages

The Yunquera de Henares City Council has detailed technical measures taken to resolve intermittent public lighting outages that have affected various areas of the municipality since October 2. Maintenance company Elecnor, operating under the Consorcio Energético de la Campiña, has identified and repaired multiple faults in wiring, connections, and junction boxes.

The primary cause of the blackouts was the configuration of a command center where an excessive number of luminaires were connected to a single line. This setup meant that minor electrical leaks or faults would trigger general protections, simultaneously cutting power to entire neighborhoods.

To prevent recurring chain failures, specialized crews are restructuring the network by dividing the original wiring into several independent circuits. This sectorization aims to confine any future incidents to a limited area and speed up diagnostic times. Mayor Lucas Castillo stated that the council will maintain continuous supervision of the installation until service stability is fully restored.
