Yunusemre Mayor Semih Balaban outlines municipal projects

Yunusemre Mayor Semih Balaban held a monthly press conference in Manisa to outline recent municipal activities and upcoming projects. Key developments include the relocation of the local second-hand market to the Laleli Market and the planned establishment of an antique market within the district.

In the realm of social services and education, the municipality has opened six nurseries, with two more expected to be completed within a month. Additionally, over 500 preschool children have begun attending municipal culture and arts centers, which offer services at significantly lower costs than the private market. The municipality also provided stationery assistance to over 1,000 families.

Regarding sports and regional promotion, Yunusemre Belediyespor hosted over 4,000 athletes across 12 branches during summer schools, with winter programs prepared for nine branches. The mayor also highlighted the success of the first pistachio festival in Akçaköy, aimed at promoting Yuntdağı as a pistachio producer.

Infrastructure and cooperation efforts include planned projects for marketplaces, wedding halls, and social facilities in Akgedik and Yuntdağı villages, developed in coordination with the Metropolitan Municipality. Balaban also addressed recent media appearances, noting that he personally covered the costs of a recent television program appearance.
