Yunusemre Municipality resolves Spil neighborhood natural gas issue

Residents of the Spil neighborhood held a meeting to thank Yunusemre Mayor Semih Balaban for resolving a long-standing natural gas crisis. The municipality addressed the issue by passing a council decision to ensure natural gas infrastructure reaches the area by 2026 and to cover potential future displacement costs.

During the meeting, Spil Neighborhood Head Barış Baş expressed gratitude to the municipality for addressing the neighborhood's gas and road problems. Mayor Balaban noted that the municipality acted as the primary driver in the process, working closely with gas provider Aksa to navigate zoning changes and financial uncertainties. The council decision received support from all political parties in the municipal assembly.
