Yure-Zuba app claims successful prediction of six major Tohoku earthquakes

Brain, a company specializing in earthquake forecasting services, announced that its app, ‘Yure-Zuba’, successfully predicted six major earthquakes in northern Tohoku between November 2025 and June 2026. These events all had a moment magnitude (Mw) of 6.7 or higher.

The company utilizes a proprietary ‘three-type precursor earthquake prediction method’ that analyzes geomagnetic and telluric current anomalies, low-frequency sounds, and foreshock activity. According to the report, all six earthquakes occurred within the predicted regions and magnitudes, with some variations falling within the company’s established margin of error.

While the company claims these results demonstrate the utility and reproducibility of their method, it is noted that earthquake prediction is not yet a scientifically established technology. Current scientific consensus maintains that there is no proven method to predict the exact time, location, and scale of earthquakes with high certainty. Consequently, the success rates reported are based on the company’s own internal criteria.
