Yuri Alberto returns to Corinthians training after injury

Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto has returned to group training after a two-month absence due to a muscular injury in his right thigh. The injury, sustained on July 30 during a match against Athletico-PR, initially required rest and physiotherapy. His recovery was delayed when he suffered a partial rupture of the scar tissue during a previous attempt to return in late August.

Alberto reported that his injury is “totally healed” and that he completed his first training session with the squad without pain. The technical staff expects him to be available for the upcoming match against Internacional on October 7, which is part of the 29th round of the Brasileirão.

During his absence, coach Fernando Diniz experimented with other attacking options, including Gui Negão and Pedro Raul, as the club navigated a difficult period in the national championship. Alberto expressed significant anxiety regarding his time away, stating it was difficult to watch the team's challenges from the sidelines without being able to contribute.
