Yuri Alberto ruled out of Corinthians Libertadores quarterfinal

Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto will miss the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals against Estudiantes in Argentina. The 25-year-old forward suffered a setback in his recovery from a right hamstring injury originally sustained on July 30 during a match against Athletico Paranaense.

According to the club's medical department, Alberto experienced a regression due to the development of fibrosis in the scar tissue. The issue resurfaced on August 27 while the player was participating in running drills as part of his physical transition.

While the club initially hoped he would be available for recent matches, the medical staff has shifted its focus to preparing him for the second leg of the series, scheduled for September 16 at the Neo Química Arena. The player will undergo further examinations to determine the severity of the fibrosis and adjust his rehabilitation schedule.
