Yuri Fernandes wins SENSHI 33 Grand Prix in Bulgaria

Portuguese fighter Yuri Fernandes won the light heavyweight Grand Prix tournament (up to 95 kg) at the SENSHI 33 combat gala held near Varna, Bulgaria. Fernandes secured the title through three consecutive first-round knockouts, defeating Romanian Yuri Farkas and Moldovan Alexandru Burduia in the earlier rounds before knocking out Italy's Ramon Quirini in the final in under 90 seconds.

In the third-place match, Tunisia's Sharif Ben Mabrouk defeated Argentina's Pablo Molina via a judges' decision. Bulgarian competitor Eduard Aleksanyan was eliminated in the quarterfinals following a calf kick injury sustained during his match against Yuri Farkas.

Other notable results included Bulgarian Julian Rikov securing his sixth consecutive victory at SENSHI by defeating Spain's Daniuz Mikhail in the 75 kg category. In the 70 kg category, Simeon Nakovski won his debut match against Spain's Pedro Granjo, while Ognyan Mirchev lost to Greece's Yanis Eminov by decision. The next event, SENSHI 34, is scheduled for December 5.
