Yuri!!! On Ice marks ten-year legacy in anime

Ten years after its release, the anime series Yuri!!! On Ice continues to be recognized for its cultural impact. Upon the release of its finale on December 21, 2016, the high demand for the episode caused platforms such as Crunchyroll and Tumblr to crash.

The series follows Yuri Katsuki, a competitive figure skater struggling with anxiety and depression, and his relationship with his idol and coach, Victor Nikiforov. The show is noted for its depiction of queer characters experiencing joy and intimacy, a representation that preceded broader trends in international romance media.
