Yurihonjo City Council approves salary cuts for mayor and deputy mayor

The Yurihonjo City Council in Akita Prefecture approved an ordinance to reduce the salaries of the mayor and deputy mayor during its September regular session.

The decision follows a power harassment incident involving a city employee. The council passed six items during the session, including the salary reduction amendment and the 2026 general account supplementary budget proposal.
