Yurihonjo City displays scarecrows recreating traditional rice harvesting

In Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture, the Dewa Denshokan museum has installed twelve scarecrows designed to recreate traditional rice harvesting scenes. This initiative is led by members of the Dewa Denshokan Management Support Council, a group composed of local neighborhood association presidents. The project has been ongoing for approximately ten years with the goal of educating the public about the history of rural farming regions.
